Sexual Bullying

This can be anything from sexualised name-calling to spreading rumours about someone's sexual behaviour, to criminal offences such as assault and rape. Sexual misconduct can cover a range of behaviours from a one-off incident of sexually-explicit graffiti on a wall to name-calling, inappropriate touching and serious sexual attacks.

Although sexual bullying has happened in the past, just recently it is becoming a more popular form of bullying for young people. Even children as young as five are being expelled from school for sexual bullying. Statistics show that more than 3,000 children were suspended from school for sexual misconduct. Around 3,500 pupils in England were given fixed-term exclusions from school for sexual misconduct in 2006/07. A high percentage of people have seen sexual bullying occur and haven't spoken out or said anything. Tell someone what you have seen and help that person end their torment and make their lives better.

Sexually bullying is now allowing young people and even children to gain power by going around and encouraging sexual acts at school. However, sexual bullying isn't only happening at school but it is also happening online. People are sending through sexual emails, or text messages.

If you are a victim of sexual bullying then don't be afraid there are people to help you. Teachers are now being trained to help those students that are being sexually bullied. The website is also here for you to help and advise you on what to do and how to cope.
