How to cope
.bmp)
There are things you can do to deflect people who bully:
- Try to act more confident. If a bully feels that they don't have any power over you, it takes the 'fun' out of it for them so they have no reason to carry on.
- Hang around with friends or an adult at times when you're most in danger of being bullied
- Don't fight back. Bullies are looking for a reaction so that they can carry on bullying.
- Tell someone !
TAKE BULLYING SERIOUSLY !!!
No matter what the problem it must be dealt with seriously. If you are not sure what to do then tell a close family member or a close friend. Make sure you tell someone because you might not be the only person who is being bullied by that person.
TRY TO KEEP A DIARY OR JOURNAL SO YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED ON WHAT DAY !!!
Once you have told somebody then tell an adult about it if you already haven't. Try to keep a diary so it's nice and clear about what has happened and when it has happened. If you don't want to talk to a teacher then just give them the diary and wait to see what they say. Make sure you write exactly what happened and it makes sense.
REMEMBER THAT IT IS NEVER YOUR FAULT !!!
However you are being bullied then don't think that it is all your fault. It isn't. It's their fault that they are bullying you. Even if somebody comes up and calls you a name once then tell someone. Don't let it happen again and again and not think anything of it.
